‘Deadwood’ Star Cursing At Success

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Success is a curse for some actors, but it’s a curse word for Deadwood star William Sanderson.

He plays hotel owner E.B. Farnum on the foul-mouthed western and while he tries to avoid using swear words in real life, the success of the show has made it difficult.

For instance, Sanderson says one of his neighbors loves the show so much that she greets him by saying, “How are you doing, c■■■sucker?”

As Sanderson puts it, “What does one say in response to that?”

But he’s not the only Deadwood star who is cursed by the show’s success. Sanderson says Ian McShane, who plays saloon owner and king-of-cussing Al Swearengen, now hears what he calls “the c-word greeting” all the time – even from strangers.

Deadwood airs Sundays on HBO and has its season finale on May 22.
