Today’s Brides Sticking With Traditions

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Today’s brides may be modern, but they’re old fashioned when it comes to some things.

Case in point: A new survey from Elegant Bride magazine show that 35 percent of brides say their mother closely resembles TV mom Marion Ross, who played Marion Cunningham on The Happy Days.

Twenty-seven percent say their mom is like Florence Henderson from The Brady Bunch; 22 percent say Sharon Osbourne and 16 percent say Cynthia Nixon from Sex and the City.

Meanwhile, 66 percent of girls are old fashioned gals who want daddy to walk them down the aisle; 16 percent want mom and dad to give them away; and five percent don’t want anyone to give them away.

Finally, some brides don’t want to be like their mom at all. In fact, 13 percent say “she wasn’t a great role model.”
