Believe it or not, the pioneering punk band has been around since 1978 and still packs clubs with punkers wanting to hear hits like California Uber Alles or Too Drunk To Fþþþ.
Even more amazing is that the bands 26-year-old lead singer, Jeff Penalty, wasnt even born when the group first got together.
Penalty replaced founder Jello Biafra and admits its not easy filling his steel-toed boots. He takes the challenge seriously because he has the utmost respect for Biafra as a performer and a songwriter.
Although Penalty was afraid fans might express disapproval by spitting, hes happy to say he hasnt been gobsmacked yet.
However, he is getting pressured by his fellow bandmembers who told him he has to get a tattoo in order to truly be a Dead Kennedy.
So far, Penalty has held them off, saying, Once everyone and their grandma has a tattoo, its no longer a statement of individuality.
