According to a report in the upcoming Modern Bride, sponsored weddings where the bride and groom get freebies from vendors are a rising trend.
One Kansas City, Missouri, couple managed to strike $10,000 in deals in exchange for publicity, including free rings, free tuxedos and beer from a local brewery.
Another pair of lovebirds from Atlanta who publish a magazine targeting African American authors traded free advertising to companies who bankrolled their entire wedding at a cost of $60,000. In the end, the couple only spent $300 in tips to the hairdresser and limo driver.
It may sound tacky, but the Atlanta bride, Shunda Blocker, disagrees, saying, Our wedding made me aware of how generous people can be.
