With God’s Help, Kentucky Man Claims He’s Written Best Poem Ever

HAROLD, Ky. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A man from Kentucky claims his hand was cradled by the hand of God when he was penning a poem, creating the best rhyme ever written.

Billy Maynard says in 2001 he prayed to God to help him write a poem that even Edgar Allan Poe couldn’t put a candle to and would inspire the masses.

The 53-year-old community college teacher says his prayer was answered shortly after and it took only 10 minutes to put “The Greatest Poem Ere Written” down on paper.

The poem starts, The greatest poem ere’ written was written on a tree/ T‘was not penned by mortal man nor by you or me.

Although you would expect the “special” piece of work to sell for a lot of dough, copies of it only cost $5 on Maynard’s website,

He figures the small price is just right because “it will get it into the hands of many people instead of a few.”
