April Showers Bring Mold Towers

VALLEY FORGE, Penn. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – April showers bring May flowers, but they also bring mold into your home.

According to a new survey by the Opinion Research Corporation, one in four people have mold or know someone who has experienced a problem with mold in the home.

That’s not good news for homeowners this time of year when it continues to rain in warm weather climates and snow turns into rain in cold weather regions.

It can also be a bad time for builders and landlords because 48 percent of people in the survey say they would likely sue if mold was found in the walls of their home.

Other statistics that break the mold...

  • 84 percent figure they wouldn’t buy an existing home if it had a mold problem.

  • 65 percent say their biggest concern about home mold is the health risk to their family.

  • Finally, 34 percent say they would try to clean up any mold they discovered in their house but five percent say they would just move.
