It’s Raining Men In England

ABBOTSBURY, England (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Inspiration comes from the strangest places sometimes, and for one textile artist in England, it came from the disco anthem, “It’s Raining Men.”

Drawing from the theme of the campy gay standard, Mary-Clare Buckle has created a felt artwork that depicts a sea of men raining down on the English countryside.

She says she always found the song humorous, because if it really rained men, they wouldn’t all be Tom Cruises and Brad Pitts. As Buckle puts it, “You might also end up with the likes of Prince Charles and Dudley Moore.”

True to form, her artwork pictures hunks like Cruise and Rob Lowe in the man storm, but also throws in Moore, George W. Bush and other oddball specimens of manhood.

Buckle also included her own husband in the scene.

She’s currently trying to find the perfect buyer for her unusual portrait and jokes that it’s perfect for “Elton John or those lads from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.”
