Jimmy Chamberlin Goes From Smashing Pumpkins To Righteous Brother

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Jimmy Chamberlin is best known as the drummer for Smashing Pumpkins but his latest project is more “Righteous” – as in the Righteous Brothers.

Chamberlin’s new group, the Jimmy Chamberlin Complex, has just released its first CD, Life Begins Again, and one of the tracks features a vocal from Bill Medley of the Righteous Brothers.

The tune is called “Lullaby,” and Chamberlin says he was able to get Medley to sing on it because the singer is the godfather of Billy Mohler, who plays bass for the Complex.

Chamberlin admits he had a different singer in mind but immediately pounced on Medley when he had the chance.

It’s a good thing too. Not only did he have the time of his life in the recording session, but Chamberlin says Medley added a dark quality that really makes the song come alive.

Chamberlin is getting ready to tour behind the new CD but there are no plans for Medley or other guests like Billy Corgan to sing their solos in concert.
