New Photo Exhibit Presents The True Picture Of Layla

SAN FRANCISCO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Linda McCartney isn’t the only Beatle wife who has worked as a photographer – so has Pattie Boyd, the first wife of George Harrison.

Boyd – who was the real-life inspiration for the Eric Clapton song, “Layla” – has spent the last 30 years photographing musician friends like Harrison, Clapton, B.B. King and Mick Jagger.

Now, the photos have been compiled for Boyd’s first-ever exhibition, which just opened in a San Francisco gallery.

Boyd is overwhelmed by the positive response to the photos and admits she didn’t realize she had such an extensive collection until she was asked to do the exhibit.

Although Boyd started out as a model, she says it was a natural progression to become a photographer because she spent as much time looking at the photographers “...and what they were seeing through the camera, as opposed to being the object they were looking at.”

Boyd’s exhibition will be on display at the San Francisco Art Exchange through March 9 and there are talks of either putting the photos in a book or on tour.
