SAN DIEGO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Being a Mensa member isn’t all serious – in fact, sometimes it’s all fun and games.

This weekend (Apr. 16-18), Mensa members will gather in San Diego for the 21st Annual Mind Games, where they’ll play newly-developed board games for 40 hours straight and rate them on appeal.

In the end, five games will be chosen to receive the coveted Mensa Select seal, given to games that are both fun and challenging.

Event chair LaRae Bakerink says Mensa members don’t just take to tough brainteasers. The games they enjoy most are the ones with lots of action and strategizing like the previously seal-approved Scattergories and TriBond.

Bakerink says each member will test at least 30 board games and make suggestions for improvements to manufacturers.

Since Mensans are huge gamers, they’re full of creative ideas but are especially good at catching spelling and grammar errors on game cards and directions.
