Woman Saves Cakes From Disaster
Today's bakers are more careful than ever when decorating cakes -- well, sometimes.

ORLANDO, Fla. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) One woman is saving delicious cakes from becoming total disasters. In Cake Wrecks: When Professional Cakes Go Horribly Wrong (Andrews McMeel Publishing), author Jen Yates compiles photographic evidence of terrible mistakes made by bakers on cakes.
For example, one customer sent a flash drive containing the photo they wanted printed on their cake to a bakery. Instead, they got a picture of the actual flash drive on their dessert.
Despite the countless cake mistakes out there, Yates thinks her book and the blog that inspired it help bakers stay on top of their game.
She says, I think Cake Wrecks is saving cakes. Bakers are more aware of punctuation and spelling now that they might end up on the blog. That little bit of shame has been helpful.
Yates is also using the book and blog to lead the fight against cupcake cakes, which she feels are just plain ugly.
