NHL Needs Sportsmanship Lessons

KINGSTON, R.I. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) The National Hockey League is just plain barbaric. So says Dan Doyle of the Institute for National Sport, which promotes sportsmanship in sports programs in schools across the United States.
According to Doyle, the way the NHL accepts and even glorifies fighting between players is barbaric and ridiculous.
He adds, I dearly hope the NHL comes around. We dont need this thuggery.
Maybe if the NHL celebrates National Sportsmanship Day on Tuesday (Mar. 2), theyll learn to put the kibosh on scrapping on the ice.
Doyle says the NHL should look to the NBA and how it handles poor sportsmanship.
If they take a similar zero-tolerance stance on bad behavior, then theyll give kids a better example on how to act on the field or on the ice.
Olympians are also a great example of proper sportsmanship, aside from the bronze medal winner who was kicked out of Vancouver for having a girl perform fellatio on his medal at a bar.
