The Office Is For Lovers

Thursday, February 11, 2010 16:08 GMT

CHICAGO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Love is in the air at the office.

A survey by CareerBuilder.com reveals that nearly 40 percent of employees have dated a co-worker at some point in their careers.

Furthermore, 32 percent went on to marry the person they dated at work.

Many workers date someone above them on the office ladder.

About 30 percent of women and 19 percent of men have dated a higher-up and 67 percent aren’t keeping their relationship a secret.

Though many workplace romances are in full bloom, some are still just crushes, as 8 percent of people work with someone they’d like to date.

About 12 percent of employees report that their relationships really started when they ran into each other outside of work at either Happy Hour, lunch, a business trip, or a company holiday party.

Experts believe Cupid’s arrow is freely flying at the office because people everywhere are working longer hours together.
