Valentine's Mixtapes Shouldn't Involve Murder
Tuesday, February 9, 2010 17:31 GMT
SAN FRANCISCO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) Nothing says I love you like a mixtape, as long as theres no songs about murder involved. This Valentines Day (Feb. 14), a mixed CD full of love songs will make that special someone weak in the knees.
According to John Verrochi, of the San Francisco Mixtape Society, says that when making a mixtape for somebody its important that it be personal.
He explains, You should stay away from typical couple songs. They should be songs youve actually shared with them. And you dont want all sappy love songs.
Among the songs on his ultimate Valentines love mix are DAngelos One Mogin for its nice creepy bass line, Im Still Your Fag by Broken Social Scene because its a nice song about being gay, and Big Stars sweet melody 13.
However, Verrochi says mixtape makers should avoid any song that ends with killing your lover.
Anything by Chris Brown should remain off the tracklist as well.
