Thats the case in The Kindle Did It, a short murder mystery written by Gail Farrelly that shows the dark side of the techie novelty.
According to Farrelly, the Kindle isnt just guilty of murder in her sordid tale.
She believes the gadget, which allows people to upload entire books onto it so they dont have to carry around tons of books, is also slowly killing off the publishing industry.
By letting technology take over reading, it makes books obsolete, which is a shame since many, including herself, still like the feel and smell of a good book.
The Kindle Did It is featured in the Christmas crime story collection, The Gift Of Murder: An Anthology Of Holiday Crime Stories (Wolfmont Press), which benefits Toys For Tots.
