Band Needs Cool Name Story

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – What’s in a name? The answer for country group Gloriana is: Not much.

Lead singer Cheyenne Kimball says the band hates being asked about their name because, the truth is, there’s no cool story behind it.

Kimball, former star of the MTV show Cheyenne, explains, “We all liked the word ‘glory’ and added the ‘ana.’ It sounded cool. That’s it.”

Still, she admits the group has started testing out more exciting stories about their namesake.

She jokes, “A shark was attacking me and the name came to me as I was being rescued!”

Another fib: “We were in the studio having Chinese food and it came to us in a fortune cookie after we ate sesame chicken.”

Kimball adds, “I think that’s the one we’ll go with.”

Gloriana is up for the T-Mobile Breakthrough Artist Award this Sunday (Nov. 22) at the American Music Awards.
