Today (Nov. 9) marks the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall and, oddly enough, artist Martin Butler is celebrating the momentous occasion by rebuilding it with his project, Mauer Mob.
Butler, along with a mob of thousands, will mark the path where the wall once stood with a human chain and stand for 15 minutes.
He wants to create a temporary monument of reflection, so people can remember the terrible message the original wall stood for.
He describes the Berlin Wall as a clear, man-made way to separate people simply because they had different ideologies.
Butler hopes his wall proves that dividing people is no longer acceptable and will not be tolerated by anyone ever again.
No word if David Hasselhoff will make an appearance at the event, since he proclaims to have brought down the wall with his music.
