Amateur Chefs Have Food Fight

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Amateur chefs are peddling their dishes in an online food fight.

Food writers Amanda Hesser and Merrill Stubbs are compiling recipes for a cookbook through weekly food wars on Food52.com.

The foodies post a challenge for their readers, who then submit their best homemade recipes. The duo choose their favorite recipes, make the dishes, and put up their best two final feasts for the public to vote on.

Hesser and Stubbs prefer to compile recipes from regular home cooks rather than professionals because, “Everyday cooks are conscious of time and resources, and have to cook every night so they tend to be more creative. They don’t want to eat the same thing every night.”

They think home cooks “deserve to have their talents recognized.”

Hesser and Stubbs love the new recipes they’re getting, and have even taken to making the meals at home for their own families.
