Actress Gets Babysitting Job

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Caring for a flurry of kids is easier said than done.

Just ask Jaime Ray Newman who plays a mother of five with magical powers in the upcoming ABC series, Eastwick.

For Newman, who’s single and only 31, playing a mother of many is a huge stretch.

To prepare for her mommy role, she visited her cousin in Israel – who happens to have five kids – and offered her babysitting services for three weeks straight.

Newman admits she “went insane” during her kiddie crash-course, which made her realize motherhood is the hardest gig of all.

Her long days on set seem like nothing compared to child care because, as she puts it, “When you have kids, you don’t exist. Everything is geared toward satisfying them.”

As a result of her research, Newman has been playfully dubbed the “Mother Hen” of her cast, despite being the baby.

Eastwick premieres this September on ABC.
