Hasbro toy company is bringing the classic board game Candyland to life today (Aug. 19) on San Franciscos famously crooked Lombard Street to celebrate the games 60th birthday.
Spokesperson Pat Riso says the strange location is the perfect path to replicate Candyland, and hopes to create a big and beautiful event to honor the childhood staple.
Just like in the game, sections of the street will be made to look like the Candy Cane Forest and Gum Drop Mountain, and kids from the UC San Francisco Childrens Hospital will be used as live playing pieces, traveling through the path.
Riso says Candyland holds a strong place in hearts, since it was many peoples first board game.
Shes sure that seeing Candyland re-made in human size will bring back warm childhood memories for those in attendance.
