Trekkies Get Hands On Tribbles

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Now, devoted Trekkies can have their very own Tribble – the fictional furry creature from Star Trek.

Tribbles were created more than 40 years ago by David Gerrold, who inspired the Star Trek episode The Trouble With Tribbles.

The vibrating, purring balls of fur – which resemble faceless bunnies and are “born pregnant” according to Star Trek lore – have since been made into a toy distributed by Miles Rinis of tribbletoys.com.

Rinis says any die-hard Trekkie who followed the Tribbles on Star Trek can appreciate the plush.

The toy is set off by a simple clap of the hands, which can sometimes frighten unsuspecting folks.

Rinis says women “jump out of their skin” when a table of Tribbles suddenly starts shaking, while overjoyed kids start “playing bongos” on the creatures.

Though Rinis can’t confirm, Tribbles, with their soothing vibrations, may also be good to keep on hand in the bedroom.
