Variety Acts Spruce Up Weddings

REDDING, Conn. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Elvis impersonators, belly dancers, and face painters are quickly becoming wedding day staples.

Marissa Latshaw of GigMasters.com, a live entertainment booking service, says today’s creative couples are flocking to quirky acts like impersonators, tribute bands, and even stand- up comedians for their wedding entertainment.

These variety acts are generally cheaper than traditional wedding entertainment – and much more interesting.

Some of their top acts include Beatles, Frank Sinatra, Bob Marley, and Michael Jackson tribute bands.

Couples are also requesting more modern music in church as they walk down the aisle, like pop songs or movie soundtracks.

As for other parties, the latest trend in entertainment is having a balloon twister on site.

Latshaw says balloon twisters are cheap and highly coveted, growing 103 percent over the last year with their bookings.

Other quirky variety acts on the rise include fire swallowers, animal acts, one-man bands, and mariachi ensembles.
