Soda, Salt, And Straws Equal Swimsuit Disaster

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Soda, salt, and straws are all to blame for annoying bloating at the beach.

According to Lyssie Lakatos, half of “The Nutrition Twins” health duo, something as simple as carbonated drinks – like sodas – can lead to bloating while wearing a swimsuit.

The sodium and carbonation in sodas release carbon dioxide gas, which results in overall puffiness and unease in a bikini.

Instead, she suggests staying hydrated at the beach with flavored water like Fruit2o Essentials, which has zero calories but contains the vitamins, minerals, and fiber in two servings of fruit.

Lakatos says beach bloating can also be attributed to having too much sugar or salt in your diet, which prevents proper digestion, sometimes causing constipation.

Dairy items and the Sorbitol in sugar-free candy are bloating culprits too, since they cause excess gas.

Lakatos also recommends avoiding drinking through a straw before putting on a swimsuit, since extra air flows into the stomach that way.
