‘Battlestar’ Composer Treated Like Rockstar

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Composing music for Battlestar Galactica is a lot like being a rockstar.

Bear McCreary composes everything from rock to classic tunes for the spacey series and performs live concerts of the score for fans.

He’s put on Battlestar concerts at the famed Roxy and is performing Saturday (Jun. 13) at California Plaza in Downtown Los Angeles.

McCreary says fans of his music often attend his shows decked out in Battlestar costumes and sing along to every note and word of his songs.

Fans get pumped during action tunes and his rendition of “All Along The Watchtower,” but what really brings the house down is a slow love theme he created for two of the characters.

Fans go wild for the simple waltz and usually scream when they first hear the melody.

His groupies are also known to charge the stage after concerts to steal his music sheets and beg for autographs.

McCreary’s latest soundtrack for Caprica, the prequel to Battlestar, drops June 16.
