Ostriches Prefer Blondes

PICACHO PEAK, Ariz. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Here’s a bird- brained fact: Ostriches have a thing for blondes.

Danna Barrett, owner of the Rooster Cogburn Ostrich Ranch in Picacho Peak, Arizona, says ostriches have a tendency to hit on blondes – literally.

The massive birds are attracted to fair-haired folks and take to them instantly when they visit the ranch.

Barrett says, “For some reason, they prefer blondes over brunettes. They seem to stumble into them more. We lose a blonde or two a month because an ostrich will drag them over the fence. We never see them again.”

However, blondies can get revenge by going ostrich fishing during the ranch’s monster truck tours.

Passengers are given a fishing pole and bait to lure in one of the many birds roaming the area.

Barrett says if anyone can get an ostrich on deck, they can take it home. However, at 300 pounds and with their ornery personalities, it’s easier said than done.
