Billy Bush Squirms For Pageant Queens

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – TV personality Billy Bush can’t stand watching pageant queens answer questions on stage.

The Access Hollywood co-anchor is hosting the 2009 Miss USA Pageant this Sunday (Apr. 19) on NBC and admits that his least favorite part of the pageant is the dreaded “final question” that contestants must answer on the spot.

Bush – who’s been involved with Miss USA for years – says the intensity during the onstage interview makes him squirm.

He exclaims, “I can’t handle it! I cross my fingers the entire time hoping they won’t screw up what they’re saying.”

While he may be stressed out watching, his anxiety doesn’t compare to what the actual contestants go through.

He’s always amazed by the “high-estrogen energy” backstage in the days leading up to the pageant, and vouches, “These ladies have stamina!”

Bush says it’s common to see contestants curled up sleeping in the aisles of the auditorium, tuckered out from non- stop rehearsals.
