Dennis Haskins Proud To Be A Guilty Pleasure

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – TV icon Dennis Haskins doesn’t mind his role in pop culture history.

Haskins, who played Mr. Belding on the classic sitcom Saved By The Bell, is hosting the grand opening of Los Angeles’ Gallery 1988 exhibit Idiot Box tonight (Apr. 2), which will feature artwork inspired by the TV guilty pleasures that have shaped popular culture.

Haskins doesn’t shy away from his own part in cheesy TV history, and says the artworks featuring him and other Saved By The Bell castmembers are “really cool.”

However, he won’t be picking up a paintbrush anytime soon.

He says, “I learned a long time ago that I’m not an artist. I consider myself an artist with my acting, but the real artists are painters, and dancers too.”

When it comes to his own TV guilty pleasures, Haskins passes on Saved By The Bell reruns and reality shows, but can’t switch channels if the movie Groundhog Day is on the boob tube.
