Thats the premise behind the website, GrocerySaleShopper.com, which helps California consumers check out the sales happening at their local grocery stores.
Shoppers click on the California county theyre in and are quickly directed to the advertisement pages of popular markets.
Creator Robert Proctor started the site to help senior citizens on a fixed income easily find sales, but says its become popular with people of all economic backgrounds, including folks from ritzy California neighborhoods like Del Mar, La Jolla, and Beverly Hills.
By comparing ads and going to the stores with the best sales, Proctor suspects folks can save about 50 percent on food per month.
He says planning is the key to a successful grocery trip, and making a list of specific items will help curb any impulse buying.
Proctor will eventually expand his site to benefit shoppers in every state.
