Auctioneers Safe From Economic Downfall

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Thousands of people are bidding farewell to their jobs – except for auctioneers.

According to Chris Longly, spokesperson for the National Auctioneers Association, fast-talking auctioneering is one of the few jobs in America that’s practically recession-proof.

He says, “The auctioneer industry is going strong and brings in $250 trillion to the U.S. annually. Auctioneers work for you in a good market or bad market.”

The reason why auctioneering is impermeable to the economic crisis is because everyone uses it in some way, whether it’s by putting their homes, cars, or antiques on the block, or buying those same things at auctions because it’s cheaper than regular shopping.

Longly says many folks have already switched to auctioneering careers or have started attending auctioneering school in order to get through these tough times, which is a good idea in the long run.
