The 31st Annual Dirt Bag Day celebration is gliding into the Big Sky ski resort in Big Sky, Montana, this Saturday (Mar. 7), and its set to be an eyesore in the snow.
Competitors in the downhill snow race come decked out in funky, 1970s style ski outfits, which are considered the ultimate dirt bag uniform.
Spokesperson Dax Schieffer says the dirt bags on the slopes wear a lot of fluorescent colors, headbands, tight spandex, and triangle designs which, were a big theme back then.
Contestants can still look sharp, however, because, as Schieffer puts it, You dont have to dig your gear from out of a trash bin.
Though the wacky looks get laughs, theyre not the most practical outfits to wear on a snowy mountain.
Schieffer warns, Fashion outweighs function in this gear. Its pretty chilly out there.
