‘American Idol’ Nearly Destroyed

CHICAGO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – According to one anti-American Idol crusader, the cheesy singing competition was this close to being destroyed.

Dave Della Terza runs, a popular website that urges viewers to vote for the worst Idol contestants each season.

According to Della Terza, VFTW found its best candidate ever in Nick Mitchell, a.k.a. Normund Gentle, the comedian who sang a ridiculous rendition of “And I’m Telling You” last Wednesday (Feb. 25).

He explains, “Normund is everything we love. He’s an entertainer, he talks back to the judges, and he makes people hate him. Plus, no one has ever molested the Idol logo like he did during his performance.”

Sadly, Gentle was kicked off the show, but Della Terza is sure that if he had stayed, Idol could’ve finally gone down.

He says, “We want to point out what a terrible cheesy, manipulative, underhanded show Idol truly is. Normund was on the same page as us.”

Della Terza hopes VFTW finds another pony soon, someone much like Normund or season 6 trainwreck Sanjaya Malakar.
