Los Fabulocos is a quartet of Mexican-American musicians from East Los Angeles who jive to a mix of Chicano rock, blues, and classic Mexican ditties in both English and Spanish.
While the group is popular in Spanish-speaking areas like Southern California and Texas, guitarist Kid Ramos says theyre also garnering a fanbase in surprising places like Germany and Norway.
They recently played a gig at a club in Oslo, Norway, and Ramos says the venue was filled to the max with curious music fans.
Though the audience was a bit confused by their songs in Spanish, they began dancing and singing along after a few minutes.
Says Ramos: The rockabilly kids in Norway were loving it!
Ramos believes their music is universal no matter what language they sing in because its their melodies that truly translate.
Los Fabulocos self-titled CD is out now.
