Blogger Kim Jefferson runs 99sense.blogspot.com, a site that chronicles her adventures as a bargain hunter.
Jefferson has been discount shopping her entire life and has saved thousands of dollars hitting up 99-cent stores.
Besides finding convenient items like toiletries and brand- name food at 99-cent stores, Jefferson says the bargain bins yield some of the weirdest, most fascinating stuff shes ever seen.
One of her favorite finds was a box of band-aids called Ebon-Aids flesh-toned band-aids designed for people of all different colors and ethnicities.
She says, Im black, so I thought these band-aids were awesome. I bought four boxes of them!
Jefferson also used the Ebon-Aids to decorate her house, which is full of art made from discounted goods.
She says 99-cent shopping is a smart practice during economic recession and can help you become a more conscientious shopper in both good and bad times.
