Glen Campbell Keeps Family Close, Guitars Closer

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Singer Glen Campbell is enjoying his biggest wave of success in years, but he still makes family an important priority.

Campbell – who’s getting rave reviews for his album, Meet Glen Campbell, which features his interpretations of songs by Green Day, Foo Fighters, and Tom Petty – made sure the recording included several of his family members doing background vocals.

But it wasn’t nepotism on his part.

He explains, “They can all cut it musically. My daughter Debby tours with me and sings all the duets I did with people like Anne Murray and Bobbie Gentry.

But while music keeps Campbell close to his kids, he’s even closer to his guitars.

As he puts it, “I pick up a guitar first thing in the morning. I keep them lying around on the couches.”

Besides Meet Glen Campbell, a new compilation called Glen Campbell Greatest Hits is also available, which features new songs, his take on the Foo Fighters’ song “Times Like These,” and classics like “Rhinestone Cowboy.”
