Museum Of Bad Art Auctions Off Messy Masterpiece

BOSTON (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Bad art can be hard to swallow.

The Museum Of Bad Art (MOBA) in Boston – which houses art that’s gone “horribly awry in its concept or execution” – is currently auctioning off one of its messy masterpieces on eBay.

The artwork – which is simply colored pencil on paper – is called Studies In Digestion, and portrays the human digestive system drawn in the styles of artists Keith Haring, Georges Serat, Rene Margritte, and Picasso.

MOBA curator Michael Frank says the piece is from their “Rejection Collection” – art that’s so bad, it’s not even worthy of being in the museum’s permanent collection.

MOBA is auctioning it off in order to raise money for the Rose Museum at Brandeis University, which is in danger of being shut down.

The auction closes at 1:37 PM ET on Sunday (Feb. 8), and Frank hopes to pull at least a couple hundred bucks from the auction.

Althought the art is hard on the eyes, he says it would make a lovely addition to a hospital waiting room.
