Patrick Warburton Recalls His Scrawny Days

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Actor Patrick Warburton is known for his massive frame and booming voice, but it wasn’t always that way.

Warburton – who stars on Rules Of Engagement and voices intense cop Joe Swanson on Family Guy – admits he was seriously scrawny as a teenager.

He laughs, “I was such a squirrely teen – I was only about 95 pounds as a freshman in high school.”

Warburton’s tiny stature made him an instant target for bigger guys, but luckily, he “grew a lot” by the time he graduated.

Nowadays, the actor is coveted by producers for his large size and deep, recognizable voice.

Doing voiceover work on Family Guy and the Adult Swim cartoon The Venture Bros. scores Warburton major points with his 16-year-old son, who may also be poised for voiceover superstardom.

He explains, “When people call the house and my son picks up the phone, they think it’s me!”
