‘Psych’ Actor Psyches Out Backstage Crew

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Psych actor Dule Hill has a reputation for psyching out the show’s backstage crew.

Hill – who plays James Roday’s best friend on the quirky mystery series – is a sneaky prankster on the set.

If there’s ever any equipment missing, you can bet Hill has something to do with it.

He likes to go around hiding the boom microphones and poles from operators and the focus puller from the first assistant cameraman.

Hill laughs, “I always put the focus puller in a drawer somewhere. It’s pretty funny, because without that, the shot is completely out of focus.”

He’s also been known to occasionally hide the director’s slateboard, leading to some silly, long delays in filming.

Co-star James Roday vouches that the extra late days on the set are pretty much all Hill’s fault, “in so many ways!”

New episodes of Psych begin Friday (Jan. 9) on USA.
