Beans Help Racers Blow Out The Competition

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Ark. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A little extra gas power is sure to shoot racers across the finish line in Mountain View, Arkansas.

The 26th Annual Beanfest and Outhouse Races is heading to town tomorrow (Oct. 25), where 18 teams of costumed racers push an outhouse across 100 yards to glory.

Organizer Jimmie Edwards says fueling up on beans can help participants blow out the competition and win the coveted golden toilet seat trophy.

He says, “It couldn’t hurt to get a little more gas power.”

Contestants in the modified gas division of the race, where racers can soup up their outhouses for more potty power, often rip through the finish line, which leads Edwards to think they “must’ve ate a lot of beans.”

The magical fruit isn’t the only thing sending outhouses flying down the track, however.

Edwards says an enthusiastic cheering section is also great fuel for victory.

He says, “The crowd gets behind a team and it really revs them up for the win.”
