90-Year-old Man Is Michael Phelps Of Senior Games

MARINA DEL REY, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Olympic superstar Michael Phelps has nothing on one tenacious 90-year-old athlete.

Julian Myers – a longtime hollywood publicist – has competed in dozens of marathons, and even ran 90 miles for his 90th birthday earlier this year.

Tomorrow (Oct. 7) Myers will compete in six track and field events at the Huntsman World Senior Games in Utah, including the javelin toss, long jump, and 3,000-meter race – for which he holds the Senior Games record.

He’s been known to sweep the categories each year, and hopes for more competition from fellow senior citizens this time.

He says, “When you get to be my age, you look around for anyone stupid enough to do the same things I do. They’re hard to find!”

For the first time ever, Myers will compete in the 90 to 94 age division, but time is on his side.

He says, “I’m only 90, so I’ve got an edge on these old 94-year-old geezers. It’s great to be young like this!”

While competing, Myers hopes to promote a loving, friendship appreciation holiday he’s created called Amigo Day.
