‘Heroes’ Actor Was Made For Sci-Fi

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Heroes star Zachary Quinto was made to act in the sci-fi genre.

Quinto – who plays Sylar in Heroes and Spock in J.J. Abrams’ revamped version of Star Trek – never imagined he’d be so involved in the sci-fi acting world, but admits it makes perfect sense.

He has background as a theater actor and says his training has prepared him well for the over-the-top “emotion” that comes with the sci-fi genre.

Quinto explains, “The sci-fi and comic book world is so heightened and intense. It’s very theatrical, and I can do theatrical.”

Although his success in the nerdy genre wasn’t necessarily expected, Quinto embraces it.

He cites Heroes fans as the most “enthusiastic” group out there and says their excitement drives him to keep “telling stories” through his acting.

The third season of Heroes premieres tonight (Sep. 22) on NBC.
