Raw Eggs Or More Booze Cure A Hangover

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Drinking too much ale can cause ailments, but at least there are weird ways to cure hellish hangovers.

Josh Schaffner is director of the New York Craft Beer Week Festival, a 10-day boozing event which begins tomorrow (Sep. 12), and he’s heard quirky cures for nausea after beer binging.

For instance, Schaffner recalls how a teacher once suggested “mixing a raw egg with equal portions of tomato juice and light beer” to help a hangover.

He says other pro boozehounds have been known to try “drinking whatever gave them the hangover in the first place,” or simply giving it the “old college try,” which is chugging the biggest Gatorade they can find.

As for Schaffner’s own hangovers, he prefers healing them in a more traditional way, or as he puts it, “With greasy food and a large batch of pancakes.”
