The Black Hill Institute of Geology in Hill City, South Dakota, allows dinosaur lovers to own a prehistoric pet by selling exact, life-sized replicas of extinct creatures like a Triceratops, sabre-toothed tiger, and a T. Rex that stands 40 feet long and more than 20 feet high.
According to marketing coordinator Marion Zanker, the mega monsters tower over wimpy puppies and kitties in coolness.
She says, Its a little better than a pet rock, and it doesnt poop or shed on the carpet like a dog or cat would.
The prehistoric pets dont come cheap though theyre the replicas you see in museums and can rip up to $100,000 out of buyers wallets.
Zanker says the dinos are either purchased for paleontological research, to decorate peoples homes, for those with a love for prehistoric animals, or to spoil T.Rex-lovin kiddies.
Though you can do whatever you like with the dinosaurs, Zanker says youll need a large living room to house them.
