Salon Offers Fishy Pedicure

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A beauty salon in Alexandria, Virginia, is using a fishy technique to get feet feeling fresh.

Yvonne Hair and Nails salon offers a new pedicure procedure called the Dr. Fish Pedicure, where calloused customers get their tootsies buffed by 250 tiny Garra rufa fish.

Salon co-owner John Ho says the swimmers have real foot- finessing power.

He says, “They come over and use their strong, tiny mouths to suck away dead skin. The fish even nibbles away at psoriasis and eczema.”

Ho imported the skin-devouring fish specially from China because, as he puts it, “The Chinese breed is nicer.”

He adds, “The Turkish breed of Garra rufa is too scary. It has whiskers and looks like a catfish. The Chinese one looks good on camera, and I think that’s why television people like it so much.”

Ho says the fishy foot fix is “very ticklish” and assures, “You can’t buy this kind of laughter. It’s just feels hilarious.”
