‘Greatest American Dog’ Eliminees Throw Pooch Party

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – One Greatest American Dog duo sure know how to party.

David Best and his playful Parson Russell Terrier, Elvis, were eliminated from Greatest American Dog last Thursday (Jul. 24) – the CBS reality show about teams of owners training their dogs.

Regardless of their ousting, Best assures that Elvis is sitting pretty.

Best admittedly spoils his dog rotten and adds, “Nothing is too expensive when it comes to Elvis.”

In fact, last November the New York-based doctor threw his pooch a $10,000 “Bark Mitzvah” to celebrate Elvis’ coming of age.

Best explains, “Elvis had just turned 13 in doggy years and we threw a huge bash. There were about 100 guests there, including Dr. Ruth. Elvis had a great time!”

The pup party included all the traditional Jewish Bar Mitzvah treats, like cake, music, and a candle-lighting ceremony.

Best says Elvis’ extravaganza paid off because when CBS execs came across a video of the party online, they immediately asked the duo to sign up for the series.

Greatest American Dog airs Thursdays on CBS.
