Thats because pageant winner Ariele Combs was competing for the title of Miss Garlic Queen for the 30th Annual Garlic Festival, which kicks off this weekend (Jul. 25-27) in Gilroy, California. Combs was crowned back in May and says judges didnt dock her for showing up to the pageant with not-so- minty fresh breath, in fact, they praised her for it.
Says Combs: Garlic breath isnt considered bad breath during the Garlic Festival. You dont have to worry about it because everybody smells the same.
Combs won over the judges with her garlic breath, and now she plans to win over the crowds at the festival.
As she puts it, I cant wait to meet fellow garlic lovers and see what the cooks have come up with this year.
