MySpace Ruins Relationships

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Social networking websites are great for building friendships, but they’re tearing couples apart.

Mediator and relationship expert Laurie Puhn says that while MySpace and Facebook are great ways to enhance one’s social life, they can be damaging to couples in meaningful romantic relationships.

She explains, “It’s difficult to express emotions through these sites. There isn’t an exchange of ideas because it’s all one-sided.”

This lack of emotion often causes confusion among couples.

Another major downfall is that there’s no privacy online to express how you really feel.

Since everything is public, it affects what people write to their loved ones because they know others will be reading their comments.

Puhn also warns that social sites aren’t platforms for revenge.

Denouncing your partner in a public forum will, in her words, “make you look crazy,” so if you need to call them out do it the old-fashioned way: Make a phone call.
