San Francisco Tour Brings Back Seedy City History

SAN FRANCISCO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – San Francisco has a strange and seedy history.

Foot Comedy Walking Tours are a guided glance into the Bay City in which comedians take tourists around town for an interactive look into San Fran’s wild, weird past.

Tour manager Robert Mack says, “San Francisco is a city that grew up without a moral code. There were no laws when people moved here during the Gold Rush, so anything was fair game. It was revolutionary and revolting, which makes for a different type of tour.”

Mack examines the city’s out-there areas and sordid sights with tours like Come Out to the Castro: San Francisco’s Gay Village From Top to Bottom and Nude, Lewd & Crude: The Rise of Strippers, Comedians, and Beats in North Beach.

He explains, “We were, and in some ways still are, the center for progressive, button-pushing entertainment. Strippers came and stripped here before any other place.”
