79-Year-Old Musician Sings The Backstage Blues

SAN DIEGO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – You won’t see one old blues singer slowing down anytime soon.

Tomorrow (May 20), Tomcat Courtney – a 79-year-old Texas born bluesman – is releasing his debut album, Downsville Blues, and while old age has taken its toll, Courtney isn’t slowing down anytime soon.

Courtney says, “When you’re old, you got problems – I’m a diabetic and I got arthritis. I ain’t walking or running, but I’m still percolating!”

Courtney is planning to take his tunes on tour, and despite the physical toll, you won’t catch him lying down on the job.

He says, “After I get off stage, I lay down because I’m worn out. But I hide that. I walk off like I’m feeling good!”

And aside from the minor aches and pains, age is just a number to Courtney.

He says, “People always ask how I’m still playing. I tell them, ‘That ain’t all I’ve been doing!’”
