Pickle Sickles are frozen pops made from pure pickle juice that creator John Howard started making in 2007 at the roller rink he owned.
When skating kiddies couldnt get enough of the sour treats, he moved his business online, where he now sells around 20,000 a month.
Howard says, Theyve become a weird phenomenon. Picklemania is spreading like wildfire.
Theres a real purpose behind the tasty treat.
Howard cites a recent study done at Arizona State University which shows that the pickle pops can help curve a blood-sugar spike by 30 percent when eaten with a meal, which can be life- saving to people battling diabetes.
But there are still skeptics.
He says, Pickles are extremely popular in Texas. You can go into any convenience store and find a jar of pickles. But many people wont try a pickle popsicle. I suppose if you dont like regular pickles though, you wont like Pickle Sickles.
