Pizza Chain Puts Its Mission Where Its Mouth Is

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – An emerging chain of eco-friendly, organic restaurants is taking a big, green bite out of the pizza business.

Pizza Fusion is a Southern Florida-based pizza chain that’s spreading their positive pepperoni message in some environmentally savvy ways.

Every pizza is delivered in a hybrid car, restaurant counters are made with recycled soda bottles, menus are made from sugar- cane based paper, seat cushions are made from soy-based foam, and even take-out utensils are made from potato starch.

Co-founder Vaughan Lazar says, “It’s a shock, but we’re making a change and creating awareness.”

But while it may ease eco-friendly eyes to notice insulation in the building made from recycled blue jeans, Pizza Fusion is all about pushing a perfect pie.

Lazar says, “At the end of the day, I’ll put our pizza up against anyone’s. People don’t want to chew on a mission.”
